Social networking is becoming ubiquitous and a recent survey notes 22% of time spent online is associated with social networking activities. Since many workers use social media to promote business and network with other professions, social networking is now also a workplace concern. Facebook scams were the most common form of malware distribution in a recent survey and over 31 million false Facebook accounts exist according to one report. False accounts have been used to connect for purposes of gaining access to systems or gain information on the victim’s other contacts and connections.
This course will review different types of social media, review expectations of privacy, explain the risks of social media and provide ideas on how we can protect ourselves while using this technology.
Terri Wagner is former founder of Mentor Source, Inc., a Colorado-based business leadership and project management coaching, mentoring, consulting, and training company. She is an experienced instructional designer, coauthor, and technical editor who produced several business leadership, project management, and business analysis textbooks and educational programs. Terri has also taught domestically and internationally to state agencies, governmental entities, corporate clients, and at the graduate level in the university system.

I have held the positions of systems administrator, systems engineer, security engineer and most recently information security engineer. Given his security background Todd is familiar with the challenge of trying to maintain the security of an environment and the security of products being released to customers. Todd is an honorably discharged veteran of the Air Force. Completed CompTIA Security+ course.
