Samuel R. Maizel, Partner Dentons Samuel Maizel, a partner in Dentons’ Los Angeles Office, is a nationally recognized expert in bankruptcy matters and financial restructurings. His most recent cases include Agsprings, the bankruptcy of a family of grain industry companies; Astria Health, the restructuring of a three hospital nonprofit system; and Verity Health, the second largest nonprofit hospital bankruptcy case in US history. Sam has lectured extensively and is widely published. He is the only lawyer in the US ranked in both healthcare and bankruptcy by Chambers and Partners and Best Lawyers. A Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, the Daily Journal named Sam one of California’s “Top Healthcare Lawyers” in 2021 and Global M&A Network named him “Restructuring Lawyer of the Year” in 2020.
